About the Federation

Working Equitation has been part of the Swedish Equestrian Federation since 2009 and has become known as the fastest growing discipline in Sweden. In 2022 WE became the third largest discipline by number of contestants, right after dressage and jumping. On average 26 competitions were held per year between 2018 and 2021; in 2022 this number grew to 43 and in 2023 to nearly 60. A few years ago The Riding School Cup was introduced, a concept that has become very popular among riding schools teaching students about working equitation - during 2022 and 2023 nearly 30 riding schools applied and completed it per year. Every year the Swedish Championships are held for seniors, plus national championships for juniors, young riders and seniors. Sweden has been represented at international championships since 2007. Working Equitation is also regularly shown through clinics at Swedens largest horse events such as Falsterbo Horse Show and Sweden International Horse Show.
