WAWE Membership — how to become a WAWE member

If you are interested to become an official member of WAWE, you can find the guidelines here.

Any national Equestrian Federation representing a country can become a member of WAWE. If the federation has not yet recognized this discipline, an association created to manage Working Equitation, officially registered in the country and whose Bylaws state that its objective is to develop and promote Working Equitation, can be recognized.

WAWE only has one protocol with each country.

Applications for membership must be addressed in writing to the WAWE Board and signed by the president of the respective organization. The following information has to be sent:

  1. a

    Organization's full name, address and contact details.

  2. b

    Identification of the person responsible for the discipline and contact details.

  3. c

    Copy of the bylaws registered with the respective national authorities.

  4. d

    Proof of the organization's regular equestrian activity and the activities already carried out to promote Working Equitation (competitions, training courses for riders, trainers and/or judges, information sessions, etc.) in your country.

  5. e

    Detailed description of the costumes and harnesses used in your traditional equitation.

  6. f

    A letter requesting the establishment of a protocol with WAWE, stating that you intend to promote Working Equitation following the Regulations of this World Association.

  7. g

    Only riders from nations with a WAWE protocol are allowed to participate in WAWE competitions.

Once these documents have been analyzed and accepted by the WAWE Board, the protocol will be drawn up and signed. It must be complied with, and it must be clearly stated that Working Equitation in that country must follow WAWE regulations in international competitions, so that the discipline in the country is oriented towards WAWE standards.

When all requirements have been met, a provisional protocol will be drawn up between the WAWE Board and the applicant organization. This protocol automatically becomes final after ratification by the General Assembly.
